Security Note: Apple will never call you and ask for your password or verification codes. If someone does, hang up immediately! It's a scam!
1. Using Your Own Apple Device
If you are already signed into an iPhone, iPad, or Mac that you trust, this is the easiest route.
On iPhone/iPad:
Go to Settings.
Tap [Your Name] > Sign-In & Security.
Tap Change Password.
Enter your device passcode (the one you use to unlock your phone), then follow the prompts to create a new password.
On a Mac:
Click the Apple Menu () > System Settings.
Click [Your Name] > Sign-In & Security.
Click Change Password and follow the instructions.
2. Using the Apple Support App (On a Friend's Device)
If you don't have access to your own device, you can use someone else’s without linking your data to their phone.
Download or open the Apple Support app on a friend's iPhone or iPad.
Scroll down to Support Tools and tap Reset Password.
Tap Help someone else.
Enter your Apple Account email address and follow the on-screen steps.
3. Using the Web (if you have no device)
If you are at a computer and don't have an Apple device handy:
Go to iforgot.apple.com
Enter your email or phone number associated with the account.
Follow the prompts. Depending on your security settings, you may need to confirm a trusted phone number or answer security questions.
💡 Pro-Tips for Success
Check your Caps Lock: It sounds simple, but Apple passwords are case-sensitive.
Trusted Phone Numbers: If you use Two-Factor Authentication, make sure you have access to the phone number associated with your account to receive a verification code.
Account Recovery: If you can’t reset your password via the methods above, you may have to start Account Recovery. This is a last-resort automated process that can take several days to verify your identity.
